Happy Birthday, Clayton!
We are so unbelievably in love with you. Every day you bring smile and joy to our lives. I always want to remember some special things about you as you are just turning three. You love horses and insisted we have a horse party. You are incredibly smart and determined. For example, you have a Hot Wheels bike that is just a little big for you, but that hasn't stopped you. You have spent hours working hard to be able to pedal that bike and it has paid off. You can now go really fast! You call it your "hard bike."
Clayton, you have so many wonderful, funny stories and sense of humor. When Daddy tells you stories at night, you often take over and entertain us with your creativity. Usually those stories involve alligators. The other night you told us one about a big mommy alligator that drank all the water in the lake to try and catch one little frog.
You adore your big brother and you both play well together. You are tough! You sometimes fall down, scrape your knee or elbow and don't even notice. But boy do you freak out when you notice the dried blood later. Don't worry though, a bandaid really does always fix it.
You are a great helper and want to help Daddy with anything and everything he is doing. You still love anything with a motor! You give the best "too-tight" hugs in the whole world and are very snugly. You also love having a new baby brother. You like holding him often, stroking his little head, and telling me how cute he is. You even share your brown truck blanket with him which means a lot because it is so special to you.
You are left handed, have a cute raspy voice and have a funny tongue. You like all treats, but always go for your vegetables first at any meal. Your favorite toys are trucks...Monster trucks and dump trucks. We went for a long walk the other night and you had to push your yellow dump truck the whole way. When I offered to give you a break and carry it, you handed it over. It was only a second before you asked to have it back so you could "vroom" it through a big puddle.
You are always happy to be out and about. You don't complain too much, even when things are hard. If something is hard at first, you keep trying and don't give up. I hope you always remain that way because sometimes life is hard and you have to work hard to receive great blessings.
Clayton, you are so special and we are grateful every day to be around your spunky, energetic, gentle, silly, funny, loving personality. Happy Birthday, Babe..........."I'm not a Babe!"
To celebrate we met up with some cousins at Farm Country. I was fun for everyone to ride the ponies. We tried to get pictures of everyone, but some turned out really blurry, so I only posted the good ones.
We liked trapping all these cute cousins in this little jail.
It was so cold and windy that we ended up celebrating inside this cute little room. We all sat on a blanket, eating a horsey treat (Chewy Chex mix) while Clayton opened presents.
It was so cold and windy that the wagon ride was quite an adventure. Grandma stayed with Dylan inside the little room so he wouldn't get cold but the rest of us snuggled for a little ride. Kristin reminds me of "Cousin It" from Adam's family in this picture.
That night, Daddy took us out for a fancy dinner at Teppanyaki. It was so tasty and Clayton enjoyed a delicious Birthday Ice cream Sundae.
We had such a great visit with Grandma. It was wonderful to spend a week with her. She got lots of snuggle time with Dylan and the boys helped her weed the yard every evening. I loved having her around and miss her already. She brought the boys some cool figurines. Clayton got Thor and Blake got Hulk. They love them.
I love how he's looking right at her. So precious.
