California trip...September 8-11, 2011

We surprised the kids with a fun trip to Disneyland and we had a fabulous time. To tell the kids where the mystery trip was, we gave them matching Mickey and Pluto shirts.
I love this picture. I think I'll love it forever!
Just entering the park for a LONG day of fun!
Waiting in line for the Nemo Submarine ride, the kids climbed and I wrangled.
Leave it to Blake to make another totally awesome face on the Splash Mountain ride. I love how the little Disney characters are getting drenched in the bottom left. This has been Warren's splurge on our last two trips to Disneyland.
Needing a little break and a cool drink, we sat down to watch the Jedi Training. No matter how much we encouraged Blake to go up and participate, he wouldn't budge. Everything was fine and good until Darth Vader and FRIGHTENING Darth Maul appeared. The costumes seemed straight out of Hollywood. Darth Maul scared ME! Clayton was terrified.
We tried covering his eyes with his sweatshirt, but after a few minutes, I took him out. Poor little guy.
Blake was an excellent driver in the Autopia Cars. This was one of Clayton's favorite rides. He drove for Daddy and cried when we had to get off. We went on it twice.
Sweet boy finally crashed for an hour in the afternoon.
While Clayton caught some necessary z's, Blake, went with Elliot and Warren on the Thunder Mountain Rail Road. I was surprised to see Blake lifting his arms.
Blake could go on every ride. He loved the fast roller coasters. He even went on Space Mountain twice and he hardly made it through it once last year. It's amazing how much he's matured in one year.
Tigger and Eeyore made an appearance at the Winnie the Pooh ride. As we were standing in line to take this picture, this little trio decided to sit on the ropes. Just as Warren and I noticed and told them to get off, the girls listened and stood up. The sudden offset made Blake flop backwards and pound his head on the concrete. It was a very audible THUD! He handled it well and smiled for the camera a few minutes later. OUCH!
Clayton loves these guys but he was a little nervous to see them up close and personal.
Granny bought each of the kids a Mickey sucker. Clayton was in heaven.

Train Ride
Kristin really wanted to see the fireworks so she saved a spot for all of us an hour and a half before the firework display. I am so glad she did because it was a pretty spectacular show! I've never seen anything like it.
Ashley and I had some good snuggle time waiting for the show to start. Love that baby.
Kristin's parents

This moment was Warren's favorite of the day. Clayton was scared of the fireworks so he was hugging Daddy so tight. He could hear the music behind him so he kept turning around, thinking something was sneaking up from behind. I love their beautiful blue eyes. Thank you, Warren for giving your boys such beautiful eyes that I get to gaze into ALL day long!
Clayton and Lindsey wanted to go on the Merry Go Round before heading back to the hotel.
It was a crowded drive home, so I had three tired monkeys on my lap.
We got to share the hotel room with Elliot and Kristin. It was pretty fun to hang out with them. I miss them so much! Blake was so cute with Ashley. He talks to her in the sweetest voice.
The next day we went to the beach. Blake and Clayton were big helpers. Just after I snapped this shot, Clayton dropped Granny's towel. He struggled to pick it up. Granny and I were laughing so hard.
A never ending sandbox...HEAVEN!

There was only one Clayton rescue. Clayton ran out a little too far and I had to practice my Baywatch run to save him. A big wave knocked him over but I got to him by the time the wave went back. After that, he was done in the water.

There was a hole...with a lot of little hands...and a lot of fun.
Sand hugs!

Warren doesn't know how to go to the beach without getting buried.
The last night we went to a pizza place so the guys could watch the Utah game. Clayton snuggled my arm to warm me up. It was precious:)
