Happy 4th of July, 2011

We made this flag for FHE the week before the 4th. Blake and Clayton were very proud of it.
My friend Brandie as a master of fondant cakes. I've been wanting to learn for a long time and she taught me how with this fun 4th of July cake. It was so fun! I'm excited for future Birthdays and many cake opportunities ahead.
We celebrated the 4th on the Saturday before the actual day. We had Brandie, Jesse, and Brogan over for some food, t-ball, and fireworks.
Even though the back yard is shaded, it is HOT outside. I love these red little faces.
This is how you do a 4th of July cake right!
It was fun to actually have a little yard, big enough to do fireworks out back. We didn't have to worry about the kids running in the street and it was nice to have privacy.

Blake's red face is so cute.

Even though I look mildly scary in this picture, I love Clayton's little face and Blue eyes. He is so happy. My poor baby was burned on the foot by a sparkler later in the evening and it was so sad.
He was very concerned about the fireworks. He couldn't decide if he liked them or not. They sure are noisy!
He decided he could enjoy them if he was on my lap, with my hands on his ears.
I love Blake and Brogan's faces in these photos. Awe.
We were invited to swim at the Chancellor's home on Monday (the real 4th) so I tested out my fondant skills to make another cake. It turned out pretty good, considering I don't have a rolling pin! A few days later, Brandie dropped off my very own rolling pin and a certificate for completing her Fondant Artistry class. She is so cute.
