Clayton's 1st Birthday Splash!

My sweet baby boy is 1 year old!
To celebrate we threw a pool party with a lot of family and friends.

Ready for the party
Swimming with Daddy

Brittany and baby Gavin

(This was actually another time we went swimming but I didn't get a picture of her at the party)

the "Krilliot" family
Clayton was very tired and a little cranky so I spent most of the time fussing with him instead of splashing in the pool. Oh well! Birthday boy gets what he wants!

Blake was fully loaded ;)

Baby N

"It's my party and I'll whine if I want to!"

" Happy Birthday to Clayton!"

What a Smiley face...

With a Smiley cupcake to go with it.

I chose to decorate with bright yellow Smiley faces because my baby is so cheerful and happy. His nickname is Clayton "Smiles"

"That's pretty good stuff!"

"Want some Dada?"

Mama can't resist that sticky offer! (I like the big orange head in the corner)

His hair looks pretty orange in this one.

Side note: I was at the store the other day and a woman stopped me and said, "I just love it when I see you here with your little red-headed boys!" I didn't know we were such a memorable family!

"What is the deal with this thing and why's it on my head?"
Daddy and boys.

(Notice my cute Birthday blocks on the wall)

Present time!

Clayton got new Spidey and Thomas jammies, clothes, a juke box, a cell phone, sippies, a coloring book and more!
What a SWEET face!
On Clayton's real birthday I made a cake and we sang when Daddy came home from work. Don't judge the cake, I had a hard day! It tasted better than it looked.
Warren described it as "very creative, Sweetheart."

Bear even joined in the singing!
Clayton thought it was yummy
First swim of the year with Mama.

We went with my friend Brittany and the water was still a little too cold so we got in the kiddy pool. We were just settling in when Blake hollered, "A RAT!" I expected to see a furry little rat scurry across the rocks nearby. To my dismay, it was a dead, soggy rat floating out to the filter area of the kiddy pool. We all squealed and were out of that water so fast. Fortunately there was an older man in a hot pink speedo there to rescue us from the rat. He tromped over casually, picked the rat up by the very tip of the tail and tossed it over the fence. Needless to say, it took a while before we could get into the kiddy pool again without the heeby-jeebies.

This is the face I get to see whenever he wants out of his crib after a nap. As soon as I pick him up, he snuggles with me for a few minutes and it is heavenly.

Sometimes his sad faces are so cute that I find myself laughing at him, even though his heart is broken.
This is Clayton's favorite blanket and favorite chair.

He is constantly climbing in and out of it and it scares us to death that he will topple over.
Clayton loves to spin around in my arms. He will shake his head in circles to tell me that wants to spin. When I do it for him, he makes the cutest squeaky noises.

He also is very serious when it comes to food. If you have something tasty...he WANTS IT!
The littlest Spider-man in the house
Blake and Clayton were playing in the playhouse together and this is how he emerged. He was clinking and jingling all over the house after that. He loves his brother and I find when Blake is at preschool Clayton doesn't know what to do with himself. I always think I'll be able to get stuff done, when in reality the entire time I have to occupy him.

Clayton, I am so happy to wake up to your sweet little smiling face ever day. This year has flown so fast but I am grateful for every minute I've been able to spend with you.

We love you little one year old!
