Since Blake is on Spring Break this week, I wanted to check out Farm Country at Thanksgiving Point. It was so fun to see and pet all the animals. The weather was perfect and the boys were really good listeners. It was a nice little outing with just the three of us.
The highlight of my day was meeting this sweet miniature foal. It wanted lots of attention and petting. When the kids had their hands near its mouth, it would try to suck their fingers and scare them. It was so soft and sweet.
Clayton has talked often about riding a real horse. He was so happy to get to ride a horse that looks just like his pony Legend that he got for Christmas.
Blake got to ride a larger horse. He said that he had to hold on really tight when it first started walking because he was a little afraid he'd fall off.
We also got to go on a wagon ride pulled by two big Clydesdale horses. Afterward, the boys wandered into the pretend jail.
I told the kids to look really sad because they were in jail. I love Clayton's expression...he nailed it.
Funny story: Tonight Warren went for a long run on the treadmill and then came in to kiss the kids goodnight. This is the conversation that followed...
Blake- "Dad, you know that place we went to today? You know that place that keeps animals?"
Warren- "You mean the barn?"
Blake- "Yeah. That's what you smell like after you've been running on the treadmill."
Warren chuckling- "Really? Which animal...a horse, a pig, a sheep...?"
Blake- "Just, all of them."
