Happy 2nd Birthday, Claydog!

I can sum up two of the best years of my life in one word...
CLAYTON!
We decided to have a very low key Birthday celebration for Clayton this year. We had a nice dinner at home, purchased some fun new toys, and made Clayton's choice of cupcakes
(he picked out the flavors and sprinkles he wanted at the store.)
Blake was very excited to give Clayton his presents!
Clayton got a soccer set from Blake so they can play together in the backyard.

It was a half-hearted thank you because he wanted to check out the present some more.
Daddy's surprise for Clayton was hiding in the playhouse.
What could it be...?
Clayton's first (and last) MOTORCYCLE!
Like every man with a sweet new ride, we had to get pictures from every angle.
This one melts my heart!
I surprised Clayton with a sweet remote control motorcycle.
There were a few disputes over sharing, but we finally convinced Daddy to give the boys a turn;)
Clayton would hold down the button inadvertently and then chase after the crazy little guy. It was quite fun to watch and had us all laughing.
If you haven't caught on to the "theme" of our party yet...It was motorcycles!
Clayton listened so closely to us singing, "Happy Birthday!"
He even chimed right in with a howl when Bear sang at the end.
After the okay from Mom, Clayton blew out his candles like a pro.
(We practiced with a candle this afternoon so the big moment would be a success;)
That motorcycle proved to be a fun way to enjoy the frosting.

Oh, those beautiful BLUES!
Clayton, you are such a tremendous joy to our family.
Here are a few things I want to always remember about my just barely two-year-old:
-I love how tightly you hug and how sweetly you kiss.
-I love how good you are at holding hands with me on one side and your brother on the other.
-Your favorite color is purple. Every vitamin, Popsicle, and lolly-pop must be, "puh-ple!"
-You can break any fridge lock. You are constantly in the fridge and it drives me CRAZY!
-You are fast!
-You are quick to explore new things and you comprehend so much.
-Your favorite song is "Old McDonald had a Farm." You demand it at bedtime by saying, "EEIEEIEEI!" and you refuse any other song.
The last time I sing it, I always hold out the last "E-I-E-I-O" so you know it's the end. Yesterday you sang that part with me with the right vowels and the right notes! It was so precious.
-You request to be wrapped up in your favorite blankie, and held on your back, and rocked like a baby. When I sing, you kick your foot....especially when I sing the JAZZY version (for when I get bored of the same old thing) You giggle when I really get in to it.
-You love your little boy, baby doll. Many nights, after I sing to you, I have to swaddle him and sing a verse of Old McDonald for him. I usually kiss him goodnight too and we both say, "Na-night, Baby" and you snuggle up next to him, patting his chest.

-You adore your big brother and luckily he adores you right back. Many days, he can't wait for you to wake up from your nap. You just started sharing a room together and you both like it a lot.
-You are a man's man. You'll choose Daddy, Papa, or any uncle over me if you have the choice.
-You love motorcycles and ATV's. Any time you see one, you make a loud, "Vroom!" sound.
-Yummy food (especially treats) are a direct path to your heart.
-Sometimes I think you look a lot like me, and then other times you are your dad's twin.
-You have such an innocent little face. No one would ever guess by your sweet little face how BUSY you are. You're not naughty...just BUSY!
-You love your binkie and still call it, "Baba." You only get it for naps and night, but sometimes you'll come out of your room in the morning with two in your mouth...just as happy as can be.
-You are just as solid as your brother was.
-You want to talk so badly and are learning new words every day. When you can't find the words to tell a story, you act it out like charades. You have acted out Mommy stomping on the bee many times for many people.

We love you, little one. Happy Birthday, Little Guy!
