Funny story- I've been trying to get some exercise lately so I've been taking Blake to ride his bike at the big park. I have to keep the stroller between him and the lake because he is very... unpredictable. Just as we started, Blake biffed it pretty hard and I reached out to catch him. I was saying, "What happened? You just jumped off! You have GOT to remember to use the breaks!" As I finished the sentece, I noticed Clayton's stroller rolling down the hill, straight for the water. People behind me were yelling, "STROLLER!" I had to drop Blake and make a run for it. I got to the stroller inches from the water! When I got back to Blake, he said, "Mommy, you have to put the BREAKS on the stroller!" Touche, little guy, touche.
On Sept. 18th, our ward had a big Chili cook-off for the Pinewood derby.
It was so crowded, loud and crazy, but still a lot of fun.
The boys worked really hard on their sweet Spiderman car. They had fun designing and shaping the wood and I had fun painting it.
Clayton was too busy chewing on a hippo to smile for the picture with Mommy.
Our cute next door neighbors made a derby car in 15 minutes and came for the race. They were probably really overwhelmed with all the people crammed into one room! Spidey raced really well and we think he took 4th place over-all.
Clayton loves his blankie. And when I say "loves," I mean LOVES! There are no appropriate substitutes...trust me, I've tried when this one is in the wash. It is one of the few things that I have purchased brand new, just for him, since we were able to use all of Blake's old things. Maybe that is why it is so special to him. Clayton freaks out if Blake even touches it, which of course leads to Blake touching it. Oh Brother!
Like Blake, he has very BIG feet.
We were laughing so hard the other night as we were trying to do the bedtime routine and Clayton kept bouncing on Blake's back. Blake is such a sweet big brother. If he jumps, Clayton jumps. When Blake crawls, Clayton crawls. (You get the picture)
Blake told me, "While Clayton is little, I will teach him good things. When he gets bigger, I will teach him DANGEROUS things!"
Warren and Elliot were sweet enough to spend the day helping 3 boys/teens in the ward who didn't have help from their dads.
It was a long, sweaty morning, but I know the kids appreciated it.
"Mama, Dad-deeeee, Ball, and HOT!"
Every time I put him in his carseat, he says, "Ot, Ot, OT!"
He can also say, "Baba (binkie), Ca! (cat), and No no no no no!"
He can also say, "Baba (binkie), Ca! (cat), and No no no no no!"
He is such a little joy and I can't imagine a world without him in it.
Blake told me, "While Clayton is little, I will teach him good things. When he gets bigger, I will teach him DANGEROUS things!"
Oh dear...
